Focus: Economic Development Funding & Financial Engineering for fostering growth
Abstract: This program is oriented towards local, regional & national public authorities, and also towards private actors considering to participate in large PPPs. The content of this program reflects the latest guidelines for building successful PPP projects as suggested by the European PPP Expertise Center, the European Investment Bank and the European Commission. The program is aimed to help public authorities and the European Economic Developers to adjust to the new role of governments to act as investment enablers instead investments funders. This program builds capacity for innovative financial engineering required to provide funding for key regional infrastructure such as regional and local roads, water treatment plants and water supply systems, facilities for waste management, as well as the transformation of waste into energy, bridges, airports , ports and other transportation facilities, industrial and technological parks. This program is strongly recommended to representatives of the private companies that have the potential to become partners in a PPP for the construction of key regional infrastructure.
